Aston University and Bruntwood SciTech to host event for industry leaders at Birmingham Tech Week

  • The event, aimed at industry leaders, academics and policymakers, will explore how innovation is driving inclusive growth in the city.

Aston University and Bruntwood SciTech will be jointly hosting an event to showcase the developments and initiatives that are underway in the Birmingham Innovation Quarter (B-IQ) from 17:30 to 19:00 on Tuesday 22 October at Enterprise Wharf as part of Birmingham Tech Week.

Birmingham Innovation Quarter: Innovation for Inclusive Growth will bring together industry leaders, investors, academics, innovators and policymakers to explore how innovation is driving inclusive growth in Birmingham.
At this informal drinks reception and networking event, guests will be able to find out about plans to invest and regenerate in the B-IQ, the site in and around the Aston University main campus and Bruntwood SciTech’s innovation campus.

Attendees will learn about Bruntwood SciTech’s latest development, Enterprise Wharf, and how Aston University’s R&D platform is accelerating the growth of spin-outs and boosting the city’s economy, as well as plans for the University’s latest acquisition of 10 Woodcock Street within the B-IQ area.
The event will also offer opportunities to collaborate and partner in Birmingham’s fast-growing innovation ecosystem.

Professor Mike Caine, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research and Enterprise at Aston University, said:

“This year, events will be taking place across the entire West Midlands covering a variety of important and innovative topics.
