Aston University has appointed Clare Gough as its Chief Student Officer.
In this newly created role, Clare will join the University senior leadership group to provide strategic leadership for the transformation of student services to best in class as part of the Aston 2030 Strategy, which articulates the University’s promise to students, based on unique learning experiences, sector-leading care and support. Clare was previously the academic registrar at Aston University.
Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, the Chief Student Officer will oversee the entire student lifecycle at Aston University, including significant student-facing services from enrolment to graduation and will play a key leadership role in developing contemporary customer-centric services, based on a digital-first and ‘one-stop shop’ approach for students.
Clare has been leading and developing people while creating seamless professional services for more than 10 years within five UK universities, including senior roles at the Universities of Nottingham and Hull, as well as independently through project work across the sector.
