Call for Papers-Frontiers of 3D Reconstruction and Generation

02.12.2024 Frontiers Journals

Background
3D reconstruction and generation technologies play a crucial role in advancing various fields such as virtual reality, augmented reality, autonomous driving, embodied intelligence, and medical image analysis. With the emergence of advanced methods like neural radiance fields, 3D gaussian splatting, and diffusion models, 3D reconstruction and generation technologies are undergoing a profound transformation. In response, the journal “Frontier of Compute Science” is organizing a special issue titled “Frontiers of 3D Reconstruction and Generation”. This special issue aims to presenting the latest research trends and technical achievements in this field, exploring its theoretical foundations, practical applications, and future development trends.

Topic of Interests
This special issue focuses on the key technologies of 3D reconstruction and generation across various domains, such as virtual/augmented reality, gaming, film production, computer-aided design, Metaverse, autonomous driving, robotics, and embodied AI. The corresponding techniques cover 3D reconstruction and generation aiming to foster breakthroughs and address critical problems within this domain. The topics include, but are not limited to:
  • 3D reconstruction, including single or sparse views, large-scale, without camera pose, and various disturbances.
  • 3D asset generation, including 3D meshes, materials, textures, scenes, etc.
  • 3D scene/object editing or stylization, including instruction-based editing, drag-based editing, multi-object interaction, and style transfer
  • 3D human generation, reconstruction, and manipulation
  • Dynamic (4D) scene reconstruction and generation
  • Applications of 3D representations in fields like autonomous driving, robotics, physical simulation, or other interdisciplinary tasks
  • Dataset, evaluation metrics and benchmarks for 3D reconstruction and generation

We have used AlphaGalileo since its foundation but frankly we need it more than ever now to ensure our research news is heard across Europe, Asia and North America. As one of the UK’s leading research universities we want to continue to work with other outstanding researchers in Europe. AlphaGalileo helps us to continue to bring our research story to them and the rest of the world.

AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
