Un modèle « réussi » de collaboration entre science et entrepreneuriat

[MARSEILLE] L’exemple d’une collaboration « fructueuse » entre une entreprise et l’Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD) afin de combattre la malnutrition chez les enfants du Laos aura sans doute été l’une des principales leçons des 80 ans de l’IRD célébrés le 7 octobre 2024 à Marseille (France).

Ce modèle a été présenté à la faveur du débat sur le thème « Science et entrepreneuriat : collaborer pour des solutions innovantes » organisé lors du forum international « Science 4 Action » qui s’est tenu ce jour-là au Palais du Pharo.

Des intervenants ont en effet montré comment la relation entre Maï Savanh Lao (MSL), une entreprise locale du Laos, et Eric Deharo, directeur de recherche à l’IRD, a permis d’apporter une solution « innovante » à un mal endémique : la dénutrition dans ce pays d’Asie où on considère qu’il y a 30% d’enfants dénutris.
