Il est temps de changer l’histoire pour une Afrique sans paludisme

Les présidents Umaro Sissoco Embaló de la République de Guinée-Bissau et Duma Gideon Boko de la République du Botswana, respectivement président sortant et président entrant de l’Alliance des dirigeants africains contre le paludisme (ALMA) tirent la sonnette d’alarme de la lutte contre le paludisme en Afrique.

En 2015, les chefs d’État et de gouvernement africains se sont engagés à éliminer le paludisme sur notre continent d’ici à 2030, fixant un objectif ambitieux mais essentiel en termes de santé publique, ainsi que de développement économique et durable.

Le cadre catalytique de l’Union africaine pour mettre fin au SIDA, à la tuberculose et éliminer le paludisme d’ici à 2030 fournit une feuille de route claire pour atteindre cet objectif.

Cependant, l’Afrique continue d’accuser un retard critique par rapport à ses engagements en matière de lutte contre le paludisme. À cinq ans de l’échéance, nous devons changer l’histoire en effectuant un grand pas en avant pour une Afrique sans paludisme.
