Sénégal : Une microalgue à l’origine de la maladie des pêcheurs de 2020/2021

[DAKAR] Une microalgue marine toxique est à l’origine de la « mystérieuse maladie » cutanée qui a touché plus d’un millier de pécheurs sénégalais de la petite côte de Dakar, il y a cinq ans.

C’est ce que révèlent les résultats d’une étude récemment publiée dans la revue Embo Molecular Medicine.

L’enquête pour déterminer les causes exactes de cette maladie, caractérisée par une éruption cutanée et des brûlures sur la peau, a été menée par une équipe de scientifiques internationaux dont des chercheurs sénégalais.
