[DAKAR] La culture du mil associée au niébé (haricot) contribue à réduire la prolifération des nématodes phytoparasites (des ravageurs qui détruisent les plantes) sur les
cultures.
C’est ce que révèle une étude menée par des chercheurs sénégalais et de l’Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD), durant la saison des pluies, entre 2016-2017, dans le village de Diohine, au Sénégal.
Pour obtenir ce résultat, un réseau de 12 champs a été établi, comprenant six champs situés à proximité des habitations appelés champs de case (amendés régulièrement avec du fumier) et six champs éloignés appelés champs de brousse (non amendés depuis au moins 10 ans), explique à SciDev.Net Médoune Mbengue, ingénieur agronome et principal auteur de l’étude.
