Leading funders of early stage Agri Food and Ag Tech companies, along with experienced entrepreneurs in the sector convene at the Guinness Enterprise Centre in Dublin as part of Bioeconomy Ireland Week 2024 to accelerate innovation in the circular bioeconomy in Ireland.
As part of Bioeconomy Ireland Week 2024, ShapingBio, in collaboration with Teagasc, BiOrbic, and Furthr, is hosting a dialogue and networking event titled “Bridging the Funding Gap: Scaling Innovations in Circular Bioeconomy’’. This in-person event will take place on Wednesday, 16th October 2024, from 9:15 AM to 1:00 PM at the Guinness Enterprise Centre, Dublin.
The event is driven by the urgent need to connect innovators in the bioeconomy sector with crucial sources of funding, following the publication of the National Bioeconomy Action Plan 2023-2025. As the circular bioeconomy continues to be a key area for sustainable innovation, this event will provide a unique platform for discussing strategies that address the financial barriers preventing the growth and scaling of breakthrough technologies and solutions.
Professor Maeve Henchion of Teagasc, ShapingBio, and BiOrbic says; "Through the EU-funded ShapingBio project, we have identified that funding remains one of the biggest hurdles to advancing the bioeconomy across the EU. With the Irish Bioeconomy Action Plan in place, this event is a timely opportunity to bring together key players – innovators, investors and experts - to explore new ways to bridge the funding gap and scale breakthrough solutions in the bioeconomy. “
"Recognising the importance of the bioeconomy for a sustainable future, and the need to bring companies and investors together to foster innovation and up-scaling, we are excited to host this event at the Guinness Enterprise Centre," added Niamh Collins, Guinness Enterprise Centre Director.
“This in-person event provides access to valuable knowledge through presentations and discussions, but we have also included critical time for networking. Registration is simple through our online system,” concludes Dr Noha Mahmoud of Teagasc and ShapingBio.
