Newcastle University announces Global Scholarships launch for 2025

This funding highlights the University’s continued commitment to attracting and supporting the best students from across the world to pursue their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Newcastle University, helping to foster a truly global academic community.

Each year, we warmly welcome thousands of students from across the globe, drawn by our world-class education, rich heritage, vibrant multicultural life, and lower living costs compared to other major UK cities.

By studying alongside domestic students, international students bring diverse perspectives to our lecture halls, labs, and the wider community, enriching the cultural and intellectual life of both the university and the city. This global exchange of ideas and experiences enhances the educational environment on campus and prepares all students to thrive in an interconnected world.

Professor Chris Whitehead, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Global, commented:

“We are delighted to launch our global scholarships scheme and support the next cohort of international students in achieving their academic ambitions. We welcome applications from students of diverse backgrounds and experiences who share our core values and aspire to make a positive difference in the world. We look forward to welcoming them to our campus next year.”

The Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence and International Scholarship schemes have been running at Newcastle University for six years and have supported hundreds of international students fulfil their educational ambitions.

AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
