ICONS will deliver innovative dissemination support services to increase the impact of R&I projects, aligned with the European Commission’s commitment.

A new EU-funded initiative — BOOSTER — is now being launched following the conclusion of the Horizon Results Booster (HRB) initiative, which supported over 1,700 projects between 2020 and 2024. Led by META-Group, the BOOSTER consortium includes key partners from the previous HRB contract, such as ICONS, Trust-IT, and PNO, alongside new partners EURICE and PPI.

The BOOSTER initiative, like its predecessor, aims to enhance the impact of EU-funded projects by turning research and innovation results into measurable scientific, economic, and societal value. With over €14 million in funding and a team of 300 experts, BOOSTER is the largest contract of its kind, expanding on the previous HRB framework. A new personalized delivery route accompanies the beneficiary among core dissemination and exploitation services, also giving a chance to access complementary add-ons.

ICONS, leveraging its 25 years of experience in communication, dissemination, exploitation and social innovation of EU-funded projects, will deliver key services within the initiative, including mentoring and continuous guidance of service beneficiaries. One of these services — “Dissemination Support” — involves helping projects with their strategies for achieving greater visibility and impact. Additionally, ICONS will offer “Portfolio Analysis” and “Audio-Visual Support” as part of BOOSTER’s add-on services.

“ICONS is excited to continue the work we started with the Horizon Results Booster,” said Sofia Finzi-Longo, Project Management Officer at ICONS. “The BOOSTER initiative builds on the insights and lessons we’ve gained over the past four years. Our new Dissemination Support service is tailored to each participating project, providing valuable recommendations and guidance to improve the readiness of communication and dissemination strategies.”

The BOOSTER initiative aims to position Horizon Europe as a global leader in transforming research outcomes into real-world benefits, an objective of the European Commission.

We have used AlphaGalileo since its foundation but frankly we need it more than ever now to ensure our research news is heard across Europe, Asia and North America. As one of the UK’s leading research universities we want to continue to work with other outstanding researchers in Europe. AlphaGalileo helps us to continue to bring our research story to them and the rest of the world.

AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
