Fraunhofer SCAI at E-world 2025: Software solutions for the energy industry

The Fraunhofer Institute for Algorithms and Scientific Computing SCAI will present innovative software solutions for the energy industry at E-world energy & water 2025 in Essen. From February 11 to 13, the focus is on solutions for energy networks, battery technologies, and asset management in the energy sector.

At booth 117 in Hall 4, the institute will showcase the latest version of the software MYNTS. This software allows users to analyze and optimize networks for gas, hydrogen, electricity, district heating, and water already in the planning phase. An important feature is the implementation of sector coupling. MYNTS is already in use by numerous grid operators, who have reduced their costs through improved planning.

In the field of battery technology, Fraunhofer SCAI will present a holistic, data-driven approach for the optimal utilization of battery data. This enables companies to streamline data management for the new battery passport. Another key area is the computer-assisted search for organic electrolyte candidates for redox-flow batteries.

Tailor-made software solutions are becoming increasingly important for energy providers. Here, Fraunhofer SCAI will introduce a newly developed software for asset evaluation and risk management in the energy sector. The solution includes customized algorithms for optimizing decentralized portfolios of energy plants and storage systems.

Expert talks at the Fraunhofer-Forum Energiezukunft

A special highlight is the Fraunhofer-Forum Energiezukunft on February 12. This exclusive accompanying event at the exhibition center will feature compact expert sessions with leading industry experts and decision-makers. Fraunhofer SCAI will contribute with talks on the simulation of energy networks and on the data-driven analysis of batteries:

  • Dr. Astrid Maaß: Holistic Battery Knowledge: Foundation for the Digital Battery Passport and Data-Driven Process Optimization
  • Dr. Mehrnaz Anvari: Planning and Simulation of Energy Networks

We have used AlphaGalileo since its foundation but frankly we need it more than ever now to ensure our research news is heard across Europe, Asia and North America. As one of the UK’s leading research universities we want to continue to work with other outstanding researchers in Europe. AlphaGalileo helps us to continue to bring our research story to them and the rest of the world.
Peter Dunn, Director of Press and Media Relations at the University of Warwick
AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
Ben Deighton, SciDevNet
AlphaGalileo is a great source of global research news. I use it regularly.
